We have created a uniquely feminine environment where women feel safe discussing their most intimate health issues. The urogynecologists/urologists at Athena Urology and Urogynecology offer new, innovative minimally invasive procedures as well as non-surgical care for urinary incontinence, prolapse (fallen bladder/rectum/uterus), overactive bladder, and painful bladder syndromes. We also treat women with urinary tract infections (UTIs) and other general urology conditions (kidney and bladder disorders) with a strong emphasis on education and prevention. In addition to treatment of urinary symptoms, we provide care for women with sexual symptoms, pelvic pain and constipation as well as fecal incontinence.
We provide care in a relaxing, private atmosphere and strongly believe in a holistic approach for female pelvic care. At Athena Urology and Urogynecology, we emphasize patient choice and education as well as patient-directed care plans. What this means is that we provide the complete range of options ranging from conservative treatment to surgical correction. For this reason, the majority of time during the first appointment is spent on education. We also understand that medications and procedures may not be appropriate for all of our patients, and we incorporate complementary medicine such as naturopathy, craniosacral therapy or acupuncture where desired.
